Renters policy must not be written in addition to a Homeowner or Condo policy on the same property, for a child or relative unless there is a guest house, in-law arrangement or separate living quarters on the property. Agent must provide a narrative and secure documentation (such as a lease agreement) describing the living situations that requires renters and homeowners coverage on the same property.
Insurable Interest / Occupancy
Unrelated occupants may be written on the same policy as long as all occupants are tenants listed on the signed lease agreement and are listed as the named insured.

“Pit bull” breeds (American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Bull Terrier, English Bull Terrier, Pit bull, Staffordshire Terrier), Chow, Dobermans, Huskies, Rottweiler, Presa Canario, Akitas and Wolf hybrids are unacceptable.
Earthquake coverage is not available on a renters policy for either new business or as an endorsement to existing business.
All residences on the first floor on a barrier island are ineligible for renters insurance, regardless of the distance to Coastal Water in any direction.
A barrier island is any land formation running parallel to the mainland that is considered to be most exposed to the effects of cyclone winds. Barrier islands very often constitute the outer land mass of the intercoastal waterway.
Coastal Waters: Where a barrier island exists, distance from coast is measured from the landside shore of the intercoastal waterway, which includes the landside shoreline of bays, harbors, and inlets. Where no barrier island exists, distance from coast is measured from the shoreline, which includes the shoreline of bays, harbors, and inlets.
